Contempt and Attorney Fees

Attorney's fees are not certain in a contempt matter. In order for there to be an award of attorney's fees in Mississippi, there first has to be a finding of willful contempt. That means that there was a willful violation of the court's order. The Court must also consider the finances of both parties and several other factors. An award of attorney's fees may be proper, but is not always certain.
